Recipe: Lavender Honey Ice Cream

Ice cream is my favorite treat. Sure, I like just about anything sweet, but something about ice cream makes me grab it every time! Making it at home allows for different flavors and creativity. I have never seen Lavender Ice cream in the store, certainly not because it isn't delicious, because it is!

Prep time is 30 minutes + 60 minutes cook time = 90 minutes!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream (whipping cream)
  • 1 1/2 cups whole or 2% milk
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender

Directions:

  1. Add the heavy cream, milk, honey, and lavender to a medium saucepan set over medium heat. Stirring occasionally, bring the lavender cream mixture to steaming.
  2. Check to see that the honey is completely dissolved into the cream and then remove the pan from the heat. Allow it to rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  3. Using a ​fine-mesh sieve, strain the lavender cream and discard the solids.
  4. Chill the mixture for 1 hour and then freeze it in an ice-cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Have a topping bar for your guests with granola, dried fruit, and be sure to include some of our Lavender Jams and it will be complete!
