Recipe: Lavender Syrup for Cocktails

There have been so many times I've used this syrup for cocktails, and for every holiday there's a cocktail. You can add it to any tea as well as your coffee. Stay tuned for more recipes using this syrup!

There are many ways to make this syrup, dried lavender or fresh, with only sugar or some honey. Honey will give it a darker color of course but that's perfect for darker alcohol. It will store in the fridge for about 2 weeks at a time so there's no need to make a huge amount.

Yield 24 servings or 1.5 cups

Prep time: 7 minutes + 10 minutes cook time = 17 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup sugar (or half cup sugar and 1 cup honey)
  • 3 tbs fresh or dried lavender

  • Stir in sugar (and honey) and simmer until dissolved
  • Continue simmering for 15 minutes
  • Remove from heat and cool for an hour
  • Strain the lavender and pour syrup into a bottle and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
