DIY Lavender Hand Sanitizer

We hope you are staying safe and calm during our current quarantine. With so many people buying up hand sanitizer, I figured I would share a method to create your own, with lavender essential oil!

Lavender essential oil has numerous wellness benefits that are now backed by science, the scent alone can be beneficial aromatherapy for relieving the stress and anxiety around the public health crisis of COVID-19. Lavender is also anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal which means it can help reduce the spread of infection and boost immunity by limiting the amount of work for your immune system.

While lavender is still being researched to support it's anti-viral properties, it can still be beneficial to make your own hand sanitizer from natural ingredients. Keepin in mind that nothing is as safe as washing your hands with soap and water, and be sure to avoid touching your face and try to remain 6 feet away or more from others.

Ingredients:

2/3 rubbing alcohol

1/3 aloe vera juice or gel

10 drops of lavender essential oil

Directions:

Combine in aluminum or glass spray bottle for easiest application of liquid. Use a pump or pop closure bottle for aloe gel consistency. Use before you eat or touch your face and after you touch others.

We hope you stay safe and calm during these stressful times, let us know how this recipe helped you!
