Christmas Lavender Old Fashioned
This Christmas, lets get toasty with lavender! Being that Lavender is a flower, it can be hard deciding what to pair the taste with. Most alcohol does well, but the typical Holiday cocktails are creamy and that doesn't always work with Lavender. This recipe uses Bourbon, which lends itself well to the fragrant lavender syrup. Check out that recipe here.
This recipe calls for a lemon blueberry tincture in replacement of bitters. You simply soak blueberries and lemon zest in everclear (or other higher proof alcohol) and strain it. Only a few (or dozen or more :) drops are required for this recipe. Store it in a cool dark place for several years!
